Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 17 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience, with at least 1 travel assignment or 4 years of experience without travel. License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ASLS, NIHSS Must-Have: C-section experience required Description: Registered Nurses are needed for a Medical Surgical unit. The role requires flexibility with changing assignments during the shift. Nurses will engage in direct patient care and assist in various aspects of patient management. The typical nurse to patient ratio is 1:6. Nurse aides are available on the unit, generally at a ratio of 1:8 to 1:10, with the potential for 1:1 care under certain circumstances. Weekend rotations are required every other week. On-call duty for low census may be part of the assignment. Holidays will be rotated with permanent staff members. The facility utilizes a Caribbean Blue scrub color. The unit provides care for patients with a variety of diagnoses, including those requiring monitoring. Floating may occur between specialties, and there will be floor-specific orientation provided. An emphasis on teamwork and adaptability within the nursing staff is essential.
