Medical-Surgical (5 East) - Assignment Type: Travel RN contract -
Start Date: November 10, 2025 - End Date: February 9, 2026 -
Duration: 13-week nursing contract - Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM
– 7:00 AM) - Hours per Week: 36 or 48 hours available - Block
booking available (except holidays); every other weekend required -
Estimated Weekly Salary: $1470 - $1570 Registered Nurse
Qualifications - Active Alabama or Compact State RN license
(Registered Nurse license required) - Minimum 1 year of recent
Med/Surg RN experience (high acuity preferred) - Experience with
1:6 or 1:7 nurse-to-patient ratios in a clinical setting -
Proficient in administering and monitoring insulin, heparin,
cardizem, tridil, and amiodarone drips - BLS (Basic Life Support)
and NIHSS certifications required - COVID-19 and flu vaccinations
required (medical/religious exemptions accepted for COVID-19; flu
exemptions require documentation) - Ability to provide nursing care
for adult and geriatric patient populations - Comfortable working
in a fast-paced, high-acuity hospital environment - Travel RN
experience preferred, but strong Med/Surg nurses without travel
experience will be considered - Must meet all compliance
requirements one week prior to start date Med/Surg RN
Responsibilities - Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and
geriatric patients on a busy Urology/Med-Surg unit - Manage patient
assignments with 1:6 or 1:7 nurse-to-patient ratios, handling high
acuity cases - Administer and monitor critical drips including
insulin, heparin, cardizem, tridil, and amiodarone - Collaborate
with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (PT, RT, pharmacy, social
services) - Accurately document patient care and clinical
interventions - Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical
training as required - Adhere to infection control, patient safety,
and hospital protocols - Demonstrate professionalism and
