Job Description CODING & COMPLIANCE DEPARTMENT MANAGER Job
Title: Coding & Compliance Manager/Certified Professional Coder
Reports to: Vice President, Operations and Vice President Human
Resources Responsibilities: · Coordinate flow of work in Coding
Department · Liaison for upper management and Coding Department
employees · Inform management and Coding Department of coding
changes · Check work of new employees · Training of new employees ·
Respond to disciplinary problems within department · Review
individual Coding Department Employees work for accuracy and
quality on a regular basis · Conduct yearly review of employees of
Coding Department · Check in charges as necessary · Code chronic
pain charges · Correct coding errors · Correct errors in CPT and
ICD-10 maintenance · Provide coding estimates in absence of
Assistant Manager Update and maintain the Department Manual Annual
or Bi-annual review of client records and departmental coding Enter
ICD-10 and CPT coding updates in MSI annually Familiarize the
department with CCI updates and use Stay abreast of yearly PQRS
updates and requirements for reporting Compose company blogs as
requested and assigned Research coding issues as needed Prepare and
present educational material in department staff meetings · Update
stardat calendar · Keep up with and inform other Managers when end
of month charges have been \t received in absence of Assistant
Managers. · Check status of charges with contact when they are not
received · Preside over monthly departmental meetings Create Master
Distribution List monthly · Create all other departmental logs
monthly Job requirements: Hold and maintain coding certification(s)
through the AAPC or AHIMA Prior Anesthesia Coding experience
preferred. Job Relationships: Manage two Assistant Managers and
eleven full-time employees
